In early 2008, David left the United States government after serving 5 1/2 years as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Insular Affairs and two years as the U.S. Representative to the Pacific Community. During his tenure, David focused on helping the islands improve their business climates and reach out to potential investors to promote private sector economic development. Under his leadership, the Office of Insular Affairs developed an Island Fellows Program, which assigned candidates for Masters of Business Administration degrees from prestigious U.S. universities to address economic development issues in the islands; organized four successful Conferences on Business Opportunities in the Islands; and led Business Opportunities Missions which have brought delegations of potential investors to the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, Palau, American Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands. David also has representative experience in international project finance, telecommunications, structured finance and municipal finance. |

John has expertise in corporate, business and transactional law, banking and finance, mergers & acquisitions and insolvency/workouts. He specializes in the management of international legal projects and been directly associated with these and business in the Pacific environment for the past 15 years. John has worked with some of Australia's largest law firms, has acted for large commercial enterprises and financial institutions and has also advised international donor bodies and governments. He established the Pacific Legal Network in 2002, and currently manages PLN Lawyers Sydney and the PLN Advisory office in Fiji. He has led Pacific-based projects for the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and for large multinationals. |

Craig has extensive experience in state and federal court trials, mediations and arbitrations, and has done work throughout the Pacific region, including in courts on Guam and American Samoa. He has a strong practice in bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy litigation, concerning secured loans, and out-of-court restructuring of creditor and debtor relationships. In the Pacific region, Craig has done extensive litigation, including trials regarding foreclosures of tuna purse seiners, both in the High Court of American Samoa and the U.S. District Court for the Territory of Guam. Internationally, he has worked on major arbitration before the International Chamber of Commerce arbitration panel in Paris, France. Craig also counsels clients on complex real and personal property lien issues. As part of the DWT Pacific collaboration, Craig is secunded to the offices of PLN Lawyers, Sydney. |
